With so much new emphasis by law on restricting res­ident physi­cians’ hours, perhaps there’s insuf­fi­cient attention to the workload of senior (“attending”) physi­cians. Their respon­si­bil­ities should be limited, too, such that they can accom­plish their work in a careful manner in a rea­sonable number of hours per week.
